What a start to the new year.

Well Christmas has come and gone, and the start of 2011 has seen a lot of my fellow Queenslanders put to the test. The devastation has been horrific, but the good will and Aussie fighting spirit of many has been an inspiration to all of us.

For my part it was a case of dusting off the orange overalls and helping out with some sand bagging duties, and getting involved with some fund raising gigs.

On the 6^th of March I’ll be taking part in the Logan Unites for Lockyer fundraising event at the Logan Entertainment Centre Wembley Rd Logan. 

Gates will be open from 11.30 am and the entertainment will kick off around 12.30pm.

Check out the poster and if you’ve got nothing on that day come along and join in the fun. There will be a heap of raffles with some fantastic prizes to be won, rides for the kids, sporting personalities, and much much more. Then we will finish the day off with a fireworks display at 7.30pm.

All monies raised will be donated to the Lockyer Valley Regional Council to help rebuild the Grantham and Lockyer communities.

I know that we have all been asked to dig deep, and as Australians we’ve come to the party. This is just another way to show your support all while having a great day out.
